Several trees were blown down across the city of Buena Vista. In addition, a power line was blown down along Middle Road.

Wider weather episode

Instability associated with an upper level disturbance combined with strong daytime heating to trigger spotty shower and thunderstorm development along the Interstate 64 corridor. Most of the storms were weak, however one storm intensified to severe intensity for a brief period of time in Rockbridge County.
