The Weatherflow sensor at the Isle of Palms Pier recorded a 37 knot wind gust.
Wider weather episode
An inland trough of low pressure and a destabilizing atmosphere in wake of earlier convection led to additional showers and thunderstorms that shifted eastward and eventually over coastal waters during late evening and early overnight hours. Several of these thunderstorms produced strong winds.
