Deep tropical moisture was in place over the Coastal Bend on July 1st. A band of thunderstorms formed near the Lower Texas Coast during the early morning hours and moved northward across the coastal waters of the Middle Texas Coast during the late morning hours. Wind gusts were between 35 and 45 knots.
