Event narrative

The Lyon County Sheriff's office reported a car stuck in water flowing over V and T Way from a dry wash. The car had to be pulled out by heavy machinery. Pictures of the incident indicate that the water was approximately 18 inches deep at the time of the rescue.

Wider weather episode

Persistent moderate to high atmospheric moisture combined with daytime heating to produce thunderstorms (many with heavy rainfall) early in the month. Periods of slow-moving thunderstorms combined with the heavy rain to bring flash flooding to western Nevada.
