Water from Poverty Creek rapidly rising and crossing Highway 52 with a depth of 2 to 3 feet.

Wider weather episode

An upper low was moving into the Southern Great Basin with west-southwest flow aloft across the Borderland. Deep monsoon moisture was in place with dew points into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Good wind shear and instability provided the necessary ingredients for severe hail and flash flooding.
