High Temperatures were in the upper 90s to around 103 for Clark County and greater Vancouver area. Emergency Preparedness officials opened cooling shelters. A few people were treated for heat related illnesses at medical centers.
Wider weather episode
A strong upper level ridge resulted in excessively warm temperatures the last week in July where the high temperatures were about 15 degrees Fahrenheit above the seasonal normal.
