Wider weather episode
A cluster of severe storms broke out across SE Ga over an unstable and moist airmass just downstream of a deepening trough axis that was digging southward down the SE Atlantic coast states. Forcing east of the trough combined with diurnal heating and and a moist WSW flow off of the Gulf of Mexico fueled strong to severe storms during peak heating.
