Event narrative

A Weatherflow station at the Aquarina Research and Development Lab in Melbourne Beach recorded a peak gust of 49 knots from the east as a thunderstorm moved onshore from the Atlantic. One minute later, a nearby Weatherflow station on the Indian River Lagoon at Rocky Point measured a 40 knot wind from the southeast.

Wider weather episode

Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms moved onshore the coast during the evening and produced strong wind gusts over the near shore Atlantic and intracoastal waterways of Brevard and St. Lucie Counties.
