The Silver City AWOS recorded a peak gust of 61 mph along with rain totaling 2.96 inches over a 2 hour period.

Wider weather episode

Moderate amounts of moisture were lingering over Southwest New Mexico with an upper level disturbance moving through westerly flow aloft. A severe thunderstorm developed over northwest Luna County with winds over 60 mph reported which caused some damage near the Grant/Luna County line.
