Buoy located about 2 miles east of Atwater Beach in northern Milwaukee County reported a wind gust of 50 knots at 5 pm CDT. A wind gust of 46 knots was reported at 530 pm CDT.
Wider weather episode
A strong push of cold air and an unstable atmosphere caused scattered showers over the lake shore and near shore waters of Lake Michigan during the late afternoon. These showers produced strong gusty winds. A few wind gusts exceeded 33 knots.
