Pea to quarter size hail.

The deep low pressure system that brought severe weather to New Mexico on the 19th continued churning slowly eastward toward the state on the 20th. A widespread burst of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and severe weather surged across much of the area along and south of Interstate 40. Numerous reports of large hail and flooding were received. The most significant flooding occurred south of Roswell along Highway 2 where roads were closed and cars were stranded in high water. Large hail reports were common within Catron, Roosevelt, Chaves, and Guadalupe counties. Several locations reported quarter to even golf ball size hail.
