2015-09-27 · Coastal Broward, Florida
Event narrative
Tidal flooding along Himmarshee Canal in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Wider weather episode
A combination of higher than normal tidal departures coupled with the perigean spring tide resulted in periodic minor flooding of low lying and vulnerable areas at high tides for several days during the end of September. Several roads, including major arteries, along the Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade coast experienced saw flooding high enough to result in road closures during times of high tide. Additional minor road flooding occurred along roads in Naples.
