A weather front with plenty of moisture moved over the middle Tanana Valley on the 25th and dropped the first significant snow of the season. Snowfall amounts ranged from 4 to 7 inches around Fairbanks to 9 inches north of Fairbanks. Snow began in the early morning and tapered off late in the late afternoon. A record snowfall of 6.7 inches fell at the Fairbanks airport breaking the previous record of 0.8 inches set in 1996.
