Event narrative
A weather station on a rig installed by Beaumont media recorded a sustained wind of 50 MPH with a gust of 61 MPH as low pressure pushed east across the coastal waters.
Wider weather episode
An area of low pressure formed along the Texas coast and moved northeast. The low pressure was baroclinic in nature, however energy from the remnants of Pacific Hurricane Patricia combined with the system. Near and ahead of the low pressure system winds were sustained to at least gale force with periods of storm force.
