A tidal departure of 3 to 4 feet resulted in moderate flooding along the James River.

A combination of Hurricane Joaquin near the Bahamas and strong high pressure over New England produced strong onshore winds over the Mid-Atlantic. The strength and duration of the onshore winds produced moderate coastal flooding along the Atlantic Coast and Chesapeake Bay.
