The Weatherflow observation on Okaloosa Pier recorded several hours of wind gusts near 50 mph. The top gust recorded was 55 mph around 6 pm.
Wider weather episode
The remnants of Hurricane Patricia and an upper level storm system resulted in the development of a strong non tropical low over the northwest Gulf of Mexico. The low produced a long duration of strong southerly winds, which resulted in high wind gusts over the Alabama and Northwest Florida coastal waters.
