Event narrative

High surf and strong winds resulted in significant coastal flooding in the Ft. Pickens area. Sands drifts as high as 5 feet were left in the wake of the flood waters on portions of Ft. Pickens Rd.

Wider weather episode

The remnants of Hurricane Patricia and an upper level storm system resulted in the development of a strong non tropical low over the northwest Gulf of Mexico. The low produced a long duration of strong southerly winds, which produced minor coastal flooding a high surf along portions of the western Florida Panhandle coast.
