Settlement Point C-MAN station recorded a gust to 76 mph (66kts) with sustained winds of 56 mph (49kts).
Wider weather episode
A line of severe storms developed over the eastern Gulf of Mexico during the early morning hours as an area of low pressure moved across the Florida peninsula. The line produced numerous strong winds gusts as it moved east over Lake Okeechobee and later over the Atlantic as it moved offshore.
