Event narrative
A thunderstorm produced a wind gust to 34 knots (39 mph) as it moved through the Atlantic City Marina.
Wider weather episode
An unseasonably warm and humid airmass was over the Mid Atlantic region during the 19th. A strong area of low pressure moved into southeastern Canada during the afternoon, and a strong cold front associated with it approached and moved through the Mid Atlantic and Northeast in the evening. As a result, numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms developed. There was plenty of wind energy above the surface, therefore some of the isolated thunderstorms and even heavier showers produced strong wind gusts on area waters.
