A Weatherflow station, XFWB, in Choctawhatchee Bay measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 48 mph.
Wider weather episode
A vigorous and well defined mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) moved across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama during the evening of May 19th and the early morning hours of May 20th. With an unstable environment in place, a well defined line of thunderstorms moved across the coastal waters of Alabama and the western Florida panhandle during the early morning hours of May 20th.
