Village officials reported two ice jams along the Inmachuk river near Deering Alaska. The combination of the ice jams along with warm temperatures and snow melt helped raise the river levels of the Inmachuk river. Water began to flood the road leading to the Deering Airport on May 11th. A spokesman with the state division of homeland security and emergency management said the waters over the road were 3 feet deep. This prompted a pair of disaster declarations from area authorities. The flood caused minor damage to the road.
