Event narrative

California Highway Patrol reported road flooding due to blocked storm drains on SR 198 and 18th Avenue off-ramp in Lemoore at 1810 PST.

Wider weather episode

Slow moving upper level low pressure system just west of the coast of California allowed for a large influx of moisture to move into central California which set the stage for heavy rain bands and embedded thunderstorms to develop for two days in a row. Flooding was observed in many locations.
