The Ammo Fire started on October 23 on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base in northern San Diego County. No reports of damage were received, however six people were injured fighting the fire. The total cost to suppress the fire was $708K.
The wider storm
The Ammo Fire burned 21,084 acres of mosly rugged terrain on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base. Six injuries were reported. The Ammo Fire cost $708K to fight and was one of thirteen large, wind-driven wildfires to impact the San Diego CWA in late October.
