North Liberty Street and Jefferson Street were closed due to urban flooding from heavy rain.

Wider weather episode

A weak boundary lingered over the region with a cold front slowly approaching the region. An unstable air mass over northern Virginia allowed for scattered showers and thunderstorms to form. Some thunderstorms produced very heavy rainfall that led to flooding.
