The GLOS site at Grand Traverse Bay measured a peak thunderstorm wind gust of 37 knots.
Wider weather episode
A warm front lifting across the region produced strong thunderstorms over portions of western Lake Superior during the day of the 25th. A cold front moving through later that night brought a few strong thunderstorms to the west half of Lake Superior.
