The spotter in Freda measured a peak thunderstorm wind gust of 40 mph.
The wider storm
A warm front lifting across the region produced strong thunderstorms over portions of western Lake Superior during the day of the 25th. A cold front moving through later that night brought a few strong thunderstorms to the west half of Lake Superior.
Began near Beacon Hill (47.1378, -88.8193).
