A wind gust of 34 knots was measured at an automated Citizen Weather Observing Station at the Bernard Russell Fire Station in Islamorada.

Showers and thunderstorms became enhanced across Florida Bay and the Upper Keys as the northern extension of a tropical wave moved into the northwest Caribbean Sea, and an upper level low pressure system moved into the Bay of Campeche.
