Wider weather episode

For the fourth day in a row, a line of organized, strong to severe thunderstorms developed over the Tennessee Valley and moved into western North Carolina during the evening. This event extended farther into the Piedmont, and most counties in the mountains, foothills, and western Piedmont reported some degree of wind damage. Although wind damage was by far the most prevalent severe weather type, isolated cells developing ahead of the line of storms produced hail as large as golf balls.
