A GLERL seasonal buoy, located offshore from Michigan City Indiana, recorded a 48 mph wind gust.

Thunderstorms developed across southern portions of Lake Michigan and moved east. Wind gusts of 45 to nearly 50 mph were recorded along the Indiana nearshore waters area.
