A severe thunderstorm downed trees in Monroe Center.
Wider weather episode
A strong shortwave and associated cold front was approaching the region from the northwest on the afternoon of July 18th. Strong shear combined with CAPE of 1500 to 2500 to produce numerous thunderstorms and some super cells. These storms produced damaging winds and large hail in Maine.
