The Schley County Emergency Manager reported an abandoned house off of Highway 240 East at Blan Wall Road was struck by lightning and burned to the ground.

A very moist and moderately unstable airmass over the region, combined with strong daytime heating and a series of weak short waves moving over the state, resulted in scattered severe thunderstorms each afternoon and evening.
