The wind measurement was from NOAA station, DULM5, located on the harbor side of Park Point.
Wider weather episode
A line of storms swept through the Duluth area early in the morning August 4th, bringing widespread strong to severe winds. The winds were not quite as strong once the storm reached western Lake Superior, but a gust to 39 mph was recorded on Park Point.
