Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew several trees down on Norway Avenue, additional trees were blown down on the west side of the City of Roanoke in the Norwood Forest region, between Greenridge Road and Peters Creek Road. One tree fell on a home causing minor damage.

Wider weather episode

Showers and thunderstorms developed in the unstable and moisture rich atmosphere in advance of a cold front. A couple of these storms increased in intensity enough to produce damaging winds.
