Event narrative

Two northwest Indiana men drowned in Lake Michigan in the Miller Beach community of Gary, IN during the Gary Air Show. Five people were pulled from the water, two of whom died.

Hazardous swim conditions existed across northwest Indiana beaches during the day and evening hours as gusty northwest winds caused wave heights up to 9 feet.
