Event narrative

Up to five inches of rain fell in a short amount of time causing flash flooding. Numerous roads were flooded including Highway 179. Also, there were several roads in Jamestown flooded.

Wider weather episode

Several rounds of storms trained over central Missouri during the evening hours of July 31st through the morning hours of August 1st. There were several reports of flash flooding with one fatality in Cole County which occurred during the early morning hours of August 1st.
