Event narrative

Numerous car accidents were reported across the county due to slick road conditions from light freezing drizzle. There was one indirect fatality and several indirect injuries from an accident near Phillipsburg. Missouri Highway Patrol reported another accident involving several cars on I-44 at the mile marker 109 near Conway. This accident caused major traffic problems on I-44 and closure of the eastbound lanes for over 2 hours.

Wider weather episode

Freezing drizzle caused major travel impacts and numerous accidents around the Missouri Ozarks. There were a few fatalities associated with car accidents which were indirectly caused by the icy road conditions.
