Event narrative

A webcam showed a waterspout just offshore of Destin, just west of the Okaloosa-Walton County line. The waterspout lifted as it moved onto land with the parent supercell thunderstorm producing a very large waterspout over Choctawhatchee Bay as it moved northeast.

Wider weather episode

Isolated supercells developed ahead of a cold front and produced waterspouts across the western Florida Panhandle coastal waters.
