A 43 year old male was struck and killed by lightning as he was walking from his house to a detached carport.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms developed across the western Florida Panhandle during the afternoon and evening of December 13, 2016. Some of the storms produced frequent lightning and one lightning fatality was reported from Escambia County, FL.
