Event narrative

Trained marine weather spotters with the Marine Resources Development Foundation Marinelab reported a thin, rope-like waterspout seaward of Molasses Reef, beneath a cumulus congestus cloud line. The visible condensation funnel extended less than halfway down to the sea surface, and no spray ring was observed.

Wider weather episode

Scattered showers embedded in light winds within the lower troposphere produced an isolated waterspout near Islamorada, Florida.
