Very dry conditions continued into December, which resulted in an area of severe drought (D2). Crops were put under more stress from the dry conditions. The drought eased by the middle of the month.

Wider weather episode

Dry conditions continued into December, which created continued stress on crops. Showers and storms in late November relieved some of the worst drought conditions. However, much of the state began the month in severe (D2) drought. Additional showers and storms through the month continued to lessen drought conditions.
