A COOP observer near Washington reported a dusting, around a quarter on an inch, of snow.

During the afternoon of January 6th through the morning of January 7th a fast moving but strong storm system swept across the southeastern U.S. A cold airmass across north and central Georgia combined with rich moisture drawn north from the Gulf of Mexico to produce a mixture of rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow across north and portions of central Georgia.
