A strong upper level jet stream moving across southern Colorado generated strong to high winds, which blew down a few power poles and trees and tipped over semi-trailers. Wind gusts between 60 mph and 70 mph were noted along the I-25 corridor counties. Wind gusts between 70 and 80 mph were observed across the eastern mountains and adjacent lee slopes. The highest wind gust reported was 83 mph, recorded at Weston (Las Animas County).
