Event narrative

The Stanley COOP observer reported 15 inches of snow. SNOTEL amounts were the following: 16 inches at Bear Canyon, 19 inches at Mill Creek Summit, 18 inches at Smiley Mountain, and 12 inches at Stickney Mill.

Wider weather episode

Heavy snow began falling in the mountains on the 14th and affected all of southeast Idaho through the 16th with the heaviest snow in the central mountains on the 14th through the 15th and in the Snake River Plain and Upper Snake River Highlands on the 16th.
