Trained spotters, CoCoRaHS observers, and the public reported 6 to 8 inches of snowfall.

Low pressure developed along a cold front over the Middle Atlantic early Thursday, February 9th. The low rapidly intensified as it moved off the Delmarva coast in the morning and then to the south and east of Long Island late morning into the afternoon. The low brought heavy snow and strong winds to portions of Northeast New Jersey. Numerous flights were cancelled or delayed at Newark Airport.
