Event narrative

State emergency management and broadcast media reported that a wildfire in Lehigh Acres damaged 13 homes, with 5 of them being a total loss. Additionally 21 vehicles and several sheds were lost to the fire. Investigators determined that the fire was started by a lit cigarette on the 21st, and burned a total of 400 acres before being contained on the 22nd.

Wider weather episode

Dry conditions and breezy winds allowed several wildfires to start across west-central and southwest Florida. Two of these fires damaged homes, vehicles, and sheds.
