Event narrative

Cold air pushed into the region on March 15th, courtesy of a strong cold front and a large high pressure system that settled over the region for the next two days. Temperatures on both March 16th and 17th dropped well into the mid and lower 20s for four to six hours. Significant crop damage was noted. The blueberry crop suffered the worst with nearly 50 percent of the crop damaged or lost. Fruit trees, such as the peach and pear, also suffered almost complete losses, although the crop size was rather small. Wheat also sustained mainly minor losses.
