Spotters and the public reported quarter to golf ball size hail from west of Hartwell, to the city, to the Reed Creek area.

Wider weather episode

An isolated severe thunderstorm producing large hail moved into northeast Georgia during the late evening. It quickly evolved into a larger cluster that produced intense straight line winds over portions of Hart County before moving into South Carolina.
