What EF1 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF1 is moderate damage: roofs badly stripped, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, windows broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 86–110 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

Boone County Emergency Management performed an aerial damage survey near the communities of Bergman and Lead Hill in Boone County. A path of damage 3.4 miles in length was found beginning 2.8 miles north-northeast of Bergman, ending 1.7 miles southwest of South Lead Hill. Much of the damage path was characterized by uprooted trees and snapped large tree limbs which converged on the center of the damage path. Damage to several homes was noted along the damage path. The worst of the damage removed part of the roof of a single family residence and destroyed a few outbuildings and several fences.
