Charlotte County Emergency Management reported that an aluminum canopy was ripped off the back of a home along State Road 31 in Punta Gorda by thunderstorm wind gusts.

Wider weather episode

A prefrontal trough moved southeast through the Florida Peninsula, producing a band of thunderstorms. Some of these thunderstorms produced damaging wind gusts over Southwest Florida.
