Event narrative
Local broadcast media reported that a 9 month pregnant woman was struck by lightning in a neighborhood in Fort Myers. She was transported to a local hospital. After arriving at the hospital, doctors delivered the baby. After a few weeks in intensive care, the child passed away. The mother was eventually released from the hospital and is back home recovering from her injuries.
